Arkansas Symphony Orchestra Series & Special EventsStella Boyle Smith Masterworks SeriesJoin the ASO for the classics! From traditions that began with Mozart, Beethoven and Bach to new and exciting works from the 20th century, the works performed in this series represent the full range of orchestral literature. Guest artists from around the world join us throughout each season, and every year one concert showcases the accomplished musicians of the ASO. This year we welcome pianists Misha Dichter and Navah Perlman and violinist Giora Schmidt as well as with soprano Marie Plette, tenor Mark Brown and massed choruses from several area universities, who will perform a concert version of Puccini's MADAME BUTTERFLY. ACXIOM Pops LIVE! SeriesThe ASO's ACXIOM Pops LIVE! series brings Arkansas the ultimate in popular symphonic entertainment throughout the year. Join us for a showcase of music from The Rat Pack, Andrew Lloyd Webber and New Orleans' Preservation Hall Jazz Band. In addition, you'll enjoy an evening of patriotic delights and our annual holiday concert, the Yuletide Spectacular. River Rhapsodies SeriesThe 2007-2008 "River Rhapsodies" series promises to delight chamber music lovers this year! With performances of works by Vivaldi, Dvorak, Schumann, Ravel, Brahms, Haydn, Beethoven, Piazzolla, Mozart, Puccini, Mendelssohn and Shostakovich in the Great Hall of the Clinton Presidential Center, this series showcases our resident sting quartets with other members of the orchestra performing in a more intimate setting than the concert hall. Enjoy buffet-style dining at Café 42, or enjoy the best sunset vista in town with pre-concert cocktails on the terrace of the Great Hall. But don't miss out with only 300 seats available, it will be Standing Room Only! Special EventsSpecial Events are one-night-only performances like this year's ACXIOM Superpops! with the Classical Mystery Tour and The Masters with violinist Joshua Bell.
