Arkansas Symphony Orchestra Series & Special Events

Stella Boyle Smith Masterworks Series

Join the ASO for the classics! From traditions that began with Mozart, Beethoven and Bach to new and exciting works from the 20th century, the works performed in this series represent the full range of orchestral literature. Guest artists from around the world join us throughout each season, and every year one concert showcases the accomplished musicians of the ASO. This year we welcome cellists Zuill Bailey and Julie Albers, violinists Franco Mezzena and Giora Schmidt, soprano Marie Plette, mezzo-soprano Juline Gilmore, tenor Mark Thomsen, bass Stephen Anthony Ray and massed choruses from several area universities, who will perform Beethoven's Symphony No. 9.

ACXIOM Pops LIVE! Series

The ASO's ACXIOM Pops LIVE! series brings Arkansas the ultimate in popular symphonic entertainment throughout the year. Join us for aerial flyers, acrobats, contortionists and strongment with Cirque de la Symphonie, an evening of romance on Valentine's Day with Mancini & Moonlight, and the timeless tunes from the movies of Walt Disney. In addition, you'll enjoy a semi-staged production of Stephen Sondheim's A Little Night Music and the Yuletide Spectacular V, which will celebrate the best of Christmas with David Itkin over the past fifteen years.

River Rhapsodies Series

The 2008-2009 "River Rhapsodies" series promises to delight chamber music lovers this year! With performances of works by Bach, Schubert, Piazzolla, Smetana, Dvorak, Bartok, Beethoven, Haydn, Schumann, Arnold and Brahms in the Great Hall of the Clinton Presidential Center, this series showcases our resident sting quartets with other members of the orchestra performing in a more intimate setting than the concert hall. Enjoy buffet-style dining at Café 42, or enjoy the best sunset vista in town with pre-concert cocktails on the terrace of the Great Hall. But don't miss out with only 350 seats available, it will be Standing Room Only!
