John C. Jarboe

John C. Jarboe, ASYO Preparatory Orchestra Conductor, holds Bachelor of Music Education and Master of Music degrees from Pittsburg State University of Pittsburg, Kansas. He has studied violin with Markwood Holmes, Merton Shatzkin while at PSU and Henri Temianka while a graduate student at California State College in Long Beach. Mr. Jarboe has performed as a violinist with symphonies on the west coast and east coast as well as the Nashville Symphony Orchestra. He was a violinist with the Arkansas Symphony for fifteen years and has also performed with the South Arkansas Symphony, the Fort Smith Symphony, the Pine Bluff Symphony, the Northeast Arkansas Symphony and the Conway Civic Symphony. Mr. Jarboe is a published Nashville songwriter, Minister of Music at Levy United Methodist Church, violist with the Jarboe String Quartet, Elementary Principal at the Arkansas School for the Blind, and father of four children. His wife of 22 years, Karen, is also a violinist and continues to perform with the ASO.
