The Arkansas Symphony Orchestra members, administration and supporters are again looking forward to Arkansas’ most elegant evening. Opus XXV – The Symphony Grand Ball is a stylish night of fabulous silent and live auction items, delectable food, beautiful music – all the while supporting the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra. The remarkable Opus XXV will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2009 at the Capital Hotel.
Hosted by Shirley Davis, guests will enjoy the traditional elements that have made Opus such a presence in the community while celebrating this very special silver anniversary in a more intimate and exclusive setting. An hour and a half of cocktails, boutique silent auction and exciting live auction will begin the evening. ASO musicians will entertain guests in one of four uniquely themed dining rooms as they enjoy an elegant gourmet dinner prepared and presented by the Capital Hotel’s Executive Chef, Lee Richardson. After dinner guests will dance the evening away to tunes provided by the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra Big Band.
Proceeds from the Opus Ball benefit the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra with specific emphasis placed on the ASO education and outreach programs. The ASO is the state’s premier professional orchestra, operating under a mission of serving the entire state of Arkansas through accessible and affordable symphonic music performances which will enrich the lives of all Arkansans. The education programs supported through Opus Ball proceeds include the four Arkansas Symphony Youth Orchestras, the Orchestra and You program, the ArtsPartners program and the annual Children’s Concert. Through these programs the ASO serves students K – 12th grade. This event is an opportunity to sustain a vital part of the ASO’s future and ensure lasting music education opportunities for students across Arkansas. Last year’s Opus Ball revenue was more than $500,000, which shows an extraordinary commitment to the ASO and its music education programs.
Opus XXV is a grand evening not to be missed. Individual tickets are $400.00 and Opus Ball Patron Tickets are $1,500.00. Hotel rooms in the Capital Hotel are available for guests to reserve for the evening. A table for 10 people cost $4,000.00. Premium Patron tables are available for $5,000, with Alto Sponsor tables for $10,000 and Soprano Sponsor tables available for $15,000.
