Arthur Post
Now in his eighth acclaimed season as Music Director of the San Juan Symphony, Arthur Post is building a reputation for groundbreaking programming that combines the great classics with music reflecting local cultures and concerns. A graduate of Yale University, summa cum laude with distinction in Music, Arthur Post, earned a Master of Music degree at The Juilliard School. Having begun his studies on the double bass, he is also fluent in a variety of musical styles, including jazz and popular music, and has conducted a variety of operatic repertoire, from Haydn to Mozart to contemporary pieces.

Philip Mann
Hailed by the BBC as a “talent to watch out for, who conveys a mature command of his forces,” American conductor Philip Mann is quickly gaining a reputation as a dynamic artist. Active in both symphonic and operatic repertoire, Mann is currently an American Conducting Fellow and the San Diego Symphony’s Assistant Conductor. Mann studied and taught at Indiana University and was elected a Rhodes Scholar. Trained as a violinist, he has appeared as a soloist, concertmaster, and chamber player in the U.S. and abroad.
Philip Mann will conduct “The Majesty of Beethoven” on October 17-18
George Hanson
George Hanson has shared the stage with nearly 90 orchestras and opera companies in nineteen countries. A versatile musician, he has been praised as a Shostakovich expert and has been featured on NBC’s Today Show, National Public Radio, and was named “Young Musician of the Year” by Musical America. Hanson holds the title of Conductor Laureate of the Wuppertal Symphony in Germany where he served as General Music Director for seven years. He is currently the Music Director of the Tucson Symphony Orchestra.

Fusao Kajima
"(Kajima) touches the minds and hearts of audiences," the Chicago Tribune wrote. As a conductor, Fusao Kajima has been winning critical acclaim for his leadership in both artistic commitment and innovative program offerings. Maestro Kajima has conducted throughout Europe, Asia, and the United States and has received high honors at some of the most prestigious international conducting competitions in the world. He has also demonstrated his interest in training young musicians, giving masterclasses at the National Fine Arts University, the National Teachers College, and Don-Hai University in Taiwan. 2008-2009 was his eleventh season as Music Director of the Bellevue Philharmonic.

André Raphel Smith
Currently in his sixth season as Music Director of the Wheeling Symphony Orchestra, André Raphel Smith has established a distinguished career through innovative programming, a strong commitment to American music and performances acclaimed by audiences and critics alike. André Raphel Smith enjoys an active career as a guest conductor and has appeared with most of America’s major orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic and the Boston and Chicago Symphony Orchestras. He also has a strong and active interest in audience development and arts education. During his tenure with the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra, he served as Music Director of its "In Unison" program, a partnership between the orchestra and local churches. Mr. Smith’s commitment to education is also reflected in his work with orchestras at leading conservatories and training programs throughout the country.
