Satia Spencer, vocalist
Satia Spencer is a mezzo-soprano, music educator, and veteran who honorably served in the U.S. Marine Corps. She stands as a distinguished vocalist, celebrated for her vocal range and versatility across genres of opera, gospel, jazz, and musical theater locally and internationally.
When offstage, Satia channels her artistry into nurturing the next generation of vocalists and musicians, inspiring them in both academic and theatrical settings. Some of her most notable credits include the title role in the opera CARMEN, Sister Boxer in THE AMEN CORNER (The Rep), Felicia in MEMPHIS: The Musical (ACT), Mother Abbess in THE SOUND OF MUSIC (ACT/Wildwood), Sarah in RAGTIME (ACT). Stepmother in INTO THE WOODS (The Rep), Celeste in TROUBLED ISLAND (OITR), Miss Hannigan in ANNIE (Wildwood), and Alice's Daughter in BIG RIVER (AST). Satia most recently joined the ASO’s E. Lee Ronell serving as the co-director of the new ASO Children’s Choir.
