Kenta Nomura, a 24-year-old violinist from New York, joined the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra in 2023. He began his violin studies at the age of four and made his Lincoln Center solo debut at Alice Tully Hall at age 13 performing Paganini Violin Concerto No. 1, Op. 6. Since then, he has competed and performed in prestigious international competitions such as Ysaÿe International Music Competition, Tchaikovsky International Competition for young musicians, Stradivarius International Competition, among many others.

Kenta has completed his Bachelor's Degree from the Juilliard School in 2021, where he has just graduated from his Master's Degree this spring in 2023. His teachers include David Chan, Ann Setzer, Khullip Jeung, and Dale Stuckenbruck.

Last summer, Kenta was invited to participate in the Pacific Music Festival held in Sapporo, Japan and was selected to perform chamber music with Rainer Küchl, former concertmaster of Vienna Philharmonic. Additionally, he has spent seven summers at Meadowmount School of Music and has served as teaching assistant for Dr. Ann Setzer.

This is Kenta’s first time being in Arkansas and he is beyond thrilled to have this remarkable opportunity to perform with the ASO!
