Learning Through Music: String Quartets in Your Classroom | See program descriptions below!


In-School Quartet Demos

Each demo is tied to the curriculum. Student/Teacher Supplements specific to your demo are available hereDemos are not available on Mondays. Per diem and mileage fees apply for visits outside Pulaski County. 30 minute duration.

All Demos are interactive

PRICE: $90 each or 3 for $200 - 100 person limit.

Demo Add-Ons

Instrument Petting Zoo (Best for grades 2-8) Add an instrument petting zoo to any demo and give each of your students the chance to touch and play a violin, viola, and cello with the guidance of a quartet member. This hands-on experience will be the highlight of the day!

"Recorder Karate" Student Recital (Best for grades 2-5) Students perform selected pieces from "Recorder Karate" with the string quartet in a mini recital! This recital can be added to any demo. Songs include: Hot Cross Buns, Merrily We Roll Along, It's Raining, Old MacDonald, Twinkle, Twinkle, Ode to Joy 1, When the Saints Go Marching In, Amazing Grace, Ode to Joy.

ADD-ON PRICE: Either add-on can be added for $35, are 15 minutes long. Approximately 100 person limit.

Meet the String Family (Quapaw Quartet)

Observe the quartet play and discuss their instruments: violin, viola, and cello. Students will then try their own hands on the instruments with the musicians,


Schumann, Bartok, Dvorak, Mozart, Haydn

Mozart the Storyteller (Quapaw Quartet)

Learn how to develop a musical story in each of the four movements of a string quartet. Each movement creates different scenes, characters, feelings, and colors.



Playing with Harmony (Rockefeller Quartet)

Explore how harmony works, singing in unison, discovering intervals, and four-part harmony.

Your Brain on Music (Rockefeller Quartet)

How does music make you feel? See and draw colors and shapes, experience how music changes your heartbeat, and interpret the music through motions.
